We Need Your Help!
FiLumena Birth and Bereavement is a non-profit. Our mission is to assist, support, and inform mothers and families who experience miscarriage, later-term miscarriage, or stillbirth, and to educate and inform health care professionals, pregnancy help providers, and clergy so they may better serve families who experience the loss of a preborn child. FiLumena Birth and Bereavement also seeks to serve, support and educate mothers who may be struggling with limited income or considered part of an "at risk" population by offering community birth doula services at no cost.
As a non-profit we have a great need for resources, equipment, and materials. We humbly ask for your support so that we may serve the women and families who come to us and so that we may continue working with medical providers and parishes so they may better serve bereaved families.

How YOU Can Make a Difference:
$550 covers the total cost of supporting a low income or at-risk Mother through her pregnancy, labor, delivery and immediately post-partum.
(This includes an initial meeting, 2 pre-natal meetings, additional meetings if the mother would like mentoring, 24/7 on-call availability 2 weeks prior the mother’s EDD until delivery, in-person support during labor and delivery and the immediate post partum, a post-partum meeting, and post partum follow up “checks” done on the phone, or in person if the mother wants to continue being mentored).
A donation of this amount allows you to “sponsor” a mother. Your name or the name of a loved one or little one will be displayed on a Special “Sponsorship Wall of Honor” on our Website.
$350 covers the cost of supporting a bereaved mother through her loss and post-partum.
(This includes the miscarriage kit, burial vessel, a bear or comfort pillow, sympathy card, on-call 24/7 availability for the weeks surrounding the loss, in-person support and phone/email support, in-person support during the service or remembrance, and grief support)

$100-$800 covers the cost of Bereavement Consulting for Pregnancy Help Professionals and Providers
The cost varies depending on the materials needed and the time spent traveling.
$300 covers the cost of Educational Training, Workshops and Materials.
$200 helps towards Administrative Costs (Maintaining the 501c 3 status, client records, bookkeeping etc)

(A yearly Sponsorship can be made in honor of a loved one or little one. Your name or the name of the one you are honoring will be displayed on the top of the Sponsorship Wall of Honor and given to the mother being sponsored with a card honoring her baby.)
